We are going to tell you a story about a wicked magician, a boy who turned nasty, his best friend, who set out to save him, and a strange beautiful lady who had very strong powers – the Snow Queen. Maledictis (the magician) and pupils run on stage. There was once a very evil magician. His/her name was Maledictis.
MALEDICTIS
Good morning class. I have invented the most marvellous device ever.
PUPILS
Chorus of "ooh what is it? what can it be? etc. etc.
MALEDICTIS
Silence! Listen carefully. What I have invented is so cunning, so nasty, so perfect that you must be very careful. First, you must put on these special glasses. (S/he hands out spectacles – they should be large and comic) Put them on! (they do so and so does Maledictis ) Now, behold! (S/he brings out a mirror, it should be wrapped up.) I have here (slowly unwrapping the mirror) a very special mirror. (While s/he is unwrapping it, the pupils should get more and more excited.)
NARRATOR 2
This horrid magician, had invented a mirror which could turn every good thing reflected in it to appear ugly.
MALEDICTIS
Now you must go out into the world and use this mirror to make people unhappy! I will give a prize to the pupil who causes the most misery.
